[NEWS] Disney Parks’ ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ Lands Get Opening Dates

Disney released further information about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations today as those guests booked into Disneyland hotels received emails this morning about their reservation dates and times. The general public not booked into a Disneyland hotel can make no-cost reservations for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on starting May 2. Information on how will be released at 8 am PST that day. Booking the reservations starts at 10 am PST that same day.

Uninspiringly, the first batch of Disneyland hotel guests’ emails were received with faulty dates and times. Disney is already rectifying this and will sort any glitches out by the time the general public vies for reservations. Update: Disney is sending these emails out in batches; if you have yet to receive an email, do not panic.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland Park in Anaheim this May 31st. The new land requires a no-cost reservation to enter this new section of the park in addition to valid theme park admission. There will be no standby line for Galaxy’s Edge, and no FastPasses. Eager guests need a Disney account online and valid theme park admission in order to make a reservation. Update: According to Disney hotel guests’ emails, each reservation will be valid for four (4) hours inside Galaxy’s Edge. There is no reentry if you leave before your allotted four hours are up.

As Disney predicts crowds will be enormous for opening day, and the weeks following, expect some further technical difficulties in making the reservations as well. Hundreds (if not thousands) of people will try to get reservations for opening day all at the same time. As in previous cases, this may cause server issues and downed webpages. Guests should have their Disney account, their valid theme park admission, and their own internet connections well prepared in advance.

Are you going to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this summer? Are you going to try to get a reservation for opening day?
