An iconic 1980s heroine is returning to the small screen with an all new look in DreamWorks TV’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

The series focuses on the adventures of Adora, a teenage girl who was raised by the Evil Horde after they abducted her as a baby. When she finds a sword that turns her into the mighty She-Ra, she goes rogue and creates an alliance with several other princesses to save her home of Etheria from the Horde.

In her new form, Adora is not only making new friends and fighting evil, but learning about herself and the world. Showrunner Noelle Stevenson told Entertainment Weekly that Adora has “been very sheltered her whole life,” causing her to have a “crisis of faith” when she realizes the members of the Horde are not good guys like she was raised to believe. Stevenson also said the body of She-Ra is “new to her, and it’s a little clumsy at first.”

Adora/She-Ra is voiced by Aimee Carrero, who plays Elena in Disney Junior’s Elena of Avalor. Suicide Squad’s Karen Fukuhara voices Glimmer, black-ish’s Marcus Scribner voices Bow, Royal Pains’ Reshma Shetty voices Angella, The Goldbergs’ AJ Michalka voices Catra, Teen Beach Movie’s Jordan Fisher voices Seahawk, and Orange is the New Black’s Lorraine Toussaint voices Shadow Weaver.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will debut on Netflix November 16.
