Incredibles-2-Poster

As the calendar turns closer and closer to June 15, the world waits in anticipation for Pixar’s Incredibles 2. It’s been 14 years since director Brad Bird first introduced us to the super family in 2004, and demand has been high for a sequel. Hype just intensified as Disney released a new poster and trailer for the film.

The poster, above, is dynamic and sleek. Stylistically, it’s very Bird-esque with a ’60s flare and the inclusion of a monorail. This is a bygone vision of a polished, tech-savvy future that never quite materialized in this form. The poster prominently features Frozone, Edna Mode, and Jack-Jack, assuring us if we weren’t already aware that these fan favorites are back. We also get our first look at the supposed villain, looming overhead, as well as a mysterious group of unidentified supers in the background. Mr. Incredible holds Jack-Jack, hinting at his arc of being the parent to stay home with the kids this time around while Elastgirl saves the day. We also see Jack-Jack innocently laser-beaming a poor raccoon… it may just be a simple poster gag, but something in me hopes that this raccoon is a main character.

Also hot off the press is a new trailer, giving us a major peek into the plot of the film and revealing a few more fan-serviced moments that audiences have waited 14 years for.

While the full film arrives in theaters June 15, beginning May 18 guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure can see the entire opening sequence of the movie during a special sneak peek happening in both parks. Frozone himself, Samuel L. Jackson, broke the news on the Disney Parks Blog.

Welcome back, Parr family!
