Josh Gad and Kristen Bell are once again voicing characters on a shared animated project, but this time it’s not Frozen—instead it’s a brand-new musical comedy called Central Park, from the producer of the highly successful Bob’s Burgers.

The premise for the TV series, according to Deadline, is “a family of caretakers, who live and work in Central Park, end up saving the park, and basically the world.”

Developed by 20th Century Fox, Central Park was initially slated to air on Fox, home of animated comedies like the Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers. However, Fox passed on the project, and Central Park instead sparked a bidding war between Apple, Netflix, and Hulu for distribution. Apple ultimately won, making Central Park the streaming service’s first animated series. Central Park has already received a two-season, 26-episode order.

Creator and executive producer of Bob’s Burgers Loren Bouchard co-wrote the Central Park script with fellow Bob’s Burgers executive producer Nora Smith and actor/writer Josh Gad. Bouchard and Gad will serve as executive producers on the show alongside Brillstein Entertainment Partners, with Smith serving as consulting producer and Kevin Larsen as producer.

Other voice cast members in addition to Gad and Bell include Leslie Odom Jr., Titus Burgess, Stanley Tucci, Daveed Diggs, and Kathryn Hahn.

Via Deadline.

What do you think of the premise and voice talent behind Central Park? Is this a series you’ll be checking out when it debuts?
