Disney and Pixar fans stay calm, but this is not a drill!

Disney has released a full cast list for its much anticipated summer blockbuster sequel Incredibles 2, along with new plot details! But it’s not just a standard cast reveal. No, instead it’s a clever play on the new and incredibly popular Google Arts and Culture Face Match app, which takes a user’s selfie and pulls up famous portraits that supposedly resemble that face, with percentages that calculate the likeness. The cast list shows the voice actor for each character next to a portrait-style “painting” of the character they portray. Pretty incredible, eh?

First, we have our main super family, helmed by Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl/Helen Parr (Holly Hunter). Previous announcements have already revealed that Elastigirl will have a bigger share of the spotlight this time around, but we now know that she’ll be part of a campaign to bring Supers out of hiding, and she might be solving a mystery or two.

Sarah Vowell returns to voice Violet, the introverted yet sarcastic teenager with the powers to become invisible and create protective force fields. Newcomer Huckleberry “Huck” Milner will voice ten-year-old Dash, the lightning-fast kid who resents his family having to hide their superpowers from the rest of the world.

Then, of course there’s Jack-Jack, who was highlighted in the teaser trailer released last November. At the end of the original film, the Parr family was clueless about their youngest member’s burgeoning powers, whereas now we know that baby can shoot lasers, burst into flames, walk through walls, and who knows what else! He might even turn out to be the most powerful Super in the family.

Bob’s old pal and fellow superhero Lucius Best/Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) and famous Super costumer designer Edna Mode (Brad Bird) also return, both strong advocates for the Supers coming out of hiding.

Along with Dash, the only returning character to receive a new voice actor is Rick Dicker (now voiced by Jonathan Banks), head of the Super Relocation Program who is continually working to keep the Parr family’s Super identities secret—up until now at least, as his division has been recently shut down.

Next, we have a handful of new characters, starting with Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk) and his sister Evelyn (Catherine Keener). Together, the two run a world-class telecommunications company and are overenthusiastic about Supers and changing the public’s opinion about them. It’s a good hunch that they’ll be part of the group that recruits Elastigirl to help the Super campaign.

We also have Voyd (Sophia Bush), a young superhero with the power to move objects by diverting them through voids she creates in space. She also happens to be a huge fan of Elastigirl.

Lastly, there’s a female character only referred to as “Ambassador” (Isabella Rossellini), described as an advocate for the Parrs who wants Supers to be legalized again.

Disney has released a teaser trailer and now a full cast list with new images, so the next natural step will hopefully be a full trailer in the next couple of months. There’s a lot of anticipation brewing for this one, but everything so far has looked promising, so Incredibles fans should cross their fingers that they’ll finally be getting the sequel they’ve dreaming of for over a decade.

Incredibles 2 is scheduled for release on June 15.

What do you think of the new characters? How about the new plot details? What are you most looking forward to or hoping to see in Incredibles 2?
