‘Adventure Time’ to End in 2018

finnsob

The internet fan communities are reeling after Cartoon Network announced yesterday that Adventure Time will come to a close in 2018. This news comes not long after the announcements of the end dates and cancellations of a number of Cartoon Network’s shows including Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, and The Amazing World of Gumball.

Adventure Time is currently in its seventh season, but the network has confirmed that the show will reach nine seasons before it comes to an end, including multiple specials and miniseries.

In a statement concerning the news, Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward said, “Adventure Time was a passion project for the people on the crew who poured their heart into the art and stories. We tried to put into every episode something genuine and telling from our lives, and make a show that was personal to us, and that had jokes too! I’m really happy that it connected with an audience for so long. It’s a special thing, I think.”

Adventure Time has been running since 2010, and is one of the network’s most popular shows. It has won six Emmys, among many other awards, and has groomed talented artists who have gone on to create other fan favorite series, like Steven Universe and Over the Garden Wall.

What do you think of this news? Are you glad that the show is going out on top, or are you just as devastated as the rest of the internet?
