Illumination wasn’t the only animation company that presenting promotional materials for their 2016 film at this year’s Licensing Expo in Los Vegas. Sony was also there to promote their one of their upcoming animated features: Angry Birds.

Courtesy of Collider, we have two images of the posters/banners that were on display at the expo.

Set to be the directorial debut of Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, Angry Birds has a lot work to do ahead if Sony wants it to be the springboard for a new animated franchise. As things go nowadays, the popularity of the mobile game wasn’t as strong as it was a few years ago. So to some degree, it will be the efforts of the directors and The Simpsons scribe Jon Vitti to make magic with a video game icon that’s still known to people, but isn’t as widespread as it used to be. This goes doubly for the promotion team, as Rovio and Sony will spend a reported $100 Million dollars on marketing and distribution for the film.

Luckily for them, the movie is already packed with some reliable star power. Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride headline the film as the three main birds: Red, Chuck, and Bomb. Maya Rudolph lends her voice as Matilda, while Peter Dinklage rounds out the central cast as the Mighty Eagle. Bill Hader is also in for a unannounced role (it’s been rumored elsewhere that he could be the voice of the Minion Pigs.

They are joined by an extensive secondary cast that includes Keegan-Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, Danielle Brooks, Romeo Santos and YouTube superstars Smosh.

Angry Birds will land in theaters on May 20, 2016.

What do you think? Any thoughts on the posters? Are you looking forward to the Angry Birds movie?
