If you are reader of this website and you happen to be a fan of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, then this article should definitely have your attention.

Welcome to the official introduction of The DRAGONS TV Recap!

Following in the footsteps of our Once Upon a Time, Star Wars: Rebels, and Gravity Falls recaps, this brand new series on Rotoscopers will recap, review, and discuss the DreamWorks Dragons television series.

This series will officially kick off in June with the Netflix premiere of Dragons: Race to the Edge. But in the weeks following up to that, this series will do something a little different.

Getting You Caught Up!

Instead of instantly picking up with Race to the Edge, the recap will begin with a four-part series of articles that will serve as an in-depth summary of the last two seasons (Riders of Berk and Defenders of Berk). These articles are designed with the purpose of catching the readers up just in time for Race to the Edge.

Pre-Game Discussion

These article will then be followed by a ‘pre-game discussion’ article, which will go over everything you need to know about Race to the Edge and will act as a platform for you to predict, analyze, and discuss what you think might happen in the new season.

Recap Plan/Schedule

When the actual recap begins, I will cover each of the thirteen episodes individually and on a daily schedule. Being that the show is now on Netflix and not on a network channel like other shows that we cover on the website, this will definitely require that you only discuss that particular episode in the comment section. I fully accept that not everyone will be on board with that decision and I will definitely look at any alternatives you may propose in the comments below, but this is the current game-plan for recapping these episodes for now.

If You Don’t Have Netflix

Speaking of Netflix, there is also something else I must bring up.

Yes, I am fully aware that not every Dragons fan has Netflix, either because of their economic situation, personal preference, or they happen to live in a part of the world that simply doesn’t carry it. Unfortunately, that is a situation that is out of our control. We don’t know if DreamWorks is planning to release Race to the Edge (or any of their other Netflix shows) on DVD and I do wish that there were other alternatives that were on the legal side.

My absolute best suggestion to those who don’t have Netflix would be to get in touch with someone that you know has Netflix so that you can have a chance to view the episodes. Of course, you can also turn to the fandom for options, but for obvious reasons, I won’t specify what they are.

Video Recaps!

And that’s not all! Our very own Morgan Stradling has also agreed to doing a video recap of Race to the Edge (a first for Rotoscopers) that will accompany the written articles! More details on that to come in the following weeks.

Start Date (July 6)

Lastly, the recaps for Race to the Edge will commence on Monday, July 6. This will give me, Morgan, and our readers a full week to watch the show, formulate thoughts, and get ourselves set up and ready to discuss the episodes individually and in-depth to the best of our ability.

The DRAGONS TV Recap will begin very soon. Be sure to join in on the fun when it happens!

Are you looking forward to this new TV recap series? If you have any questions, be sure to ask them in the comments below!
