Netflix and Dreamworks have recently announced that the How to Train Your Dragon spinoff TV series that is currently being hosted on Cartoon Network, is now going over to Netflix in the most recent of Dreamworks shows finding a home with Netflix.

The show is supposed to seamlessly bridge the gap between the first HTTYD film and its sequel (so it seems like we will be watching Hiccup’s awkward puberty phase until he becomes the hunk who will emerge for the sequel on June 13th).

Well hello there, hottie Hiccup.

“The television series works in tandem with the feature films and DVD specials, allowing fans to delve deeper into dragon lore. From the origin of Hiccup’’s new flight suit and the secrets of his dragon blade to the young Viking’s budding romance with Astrid, DreamWorks Dragons on Netflix gives viewers rich details of the larger narrative with the introduction of new dragons, exotic places and worlds unknown.”

Jay Baruchel (Hiccup), America Ferrera (Astrid), and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fishlegs) who are the original voice actors from HTTYD will be lending their voices to the Netflix series as well.

The only downside to this exciting development? The updated show will not be seen until 2015, a full year after the sequel is released.

Are you excited about this series and it’s new platform on Netflix?
