Two of the biggest heroes from the Marvel Universe team up in Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United, the first full-length, direct-to-video CG animated feature from Marvel Animation Studios. Featuring the voices of Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man and Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, this groundbreaking Marvel movie experience is available only on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital platforms December 3, 2013.

In this action-packed adventure, the invincible Iron Man and the incredible Hulk come together to save the Earth from its greatest threat yet! When two HYDRA scientists try to supercharge a Stark Arc Reactor with Hulk’s Gamma Energy, they unleash a being of pure electricity called the Zzzax – and he’s hungry for destruction. Can two of Marvel’s mightiest Heroes find a way to work together without smashing each other before time runs out?

Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United is an interesting side story of Iron Man and Hulk working together to conquer an insurmountable foe named Zzzax, who was created using the gamma radiation from the Hulk and Abomination. Iron Man has the same charismatic personality as he does in the movies and cartoons. They also pay a nice homage to the Hulk in the TV series with him able to speak with complete sentences. Even though Iron Man and Hulk have their differences in the beginning of the movie, they end up becoming a powerful duo after both suffering some unfortunate events. The CGI, while different and a bit difficult to adjust to at first, is visually impressive. It reminds me of the Beast Wars: Transformers cartoon that I loved as a kid, but more fluid and polished.

The story itself is solid, with plenty of action and humor. Though the jokes are pretty cheesy at times, I couldn’t help but chuckle at some of them. The main villain, Zzzax, is a powerhouse with the ability to absorb the energy of anything and the battles between it and our heroes is worth the price of the Blue-Ray/DVD pack. It’s something I’ve already watched a couple times and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not to mention the bonuses scenes and extras that come with its purchase.
