‘Turkeys’ Title Changed To ‘Free Birds’

This year’s upcoming Thanksgiving-themed CGI animated film, formerly titled Turkeys, now has a new title. The movie will now be known as Free Birds.

The movie, which is being produced by the animation studio Reel FX and Relativity, features the voice talents of Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney and Keith David. It is being directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who!).

The film (marketed as a “buddy comedy”) tells the story of two very different turkeys who must join together and travel to the past and try to change history- and stop turkey from becoming a holiday dinner staple. Way to ruin a perfectly fine holiday, guys.

Turkeys Free Birds will hit theaters November 1, 2013 in 2D and 3D formats.
