phineas-ferb-perry-files-animal-agents-dvd-coverPhineas & Ferb is one of Disney’s more recent TV animated success stories. It seems everyone, young and old, simply and universally loves it. I constantly hear adults saying, “I never miss an episode with my kids” or “I love that show!” Really, when a supposed kids TV show resonates with adult audiences, you know you’re in for something good.

The Show ★★★★

Phineas & Ferb: The Perry Files – Animal Agents is essentially a compilation of episodes that specifically feature Perry the Platypus and his fellow animal buddies as they live double lives as crime fighters! This is the second addition to The Perry Files home video collection (find the first one here). According to the official synopsis:

Join Perry the Platypus – a.k.a. Agent P – and his fellow operatives as they team up to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his dastardly “Inators.” Be they furry or feathered, scaly or slimy, these fearless agents roll over for nobody when it comes to crushing evil in the Tri-State Area and beyond. Fully loaded with over two hours of animated animal-themed adventures, including the exciting, two-part “Phineas And Ferb” cliffhanger “Where’s Perry?”, “Phineas and Ferb: Animal Agents” is a fun-filled, action-packed laughfest that will drive audiences wild!

The 12 episodes included on the disc are: “Journey to the Center of Candace”, “Traffic Cam Caper”, “Bowl-R-Rama Drama”, “Vanessasary Roughness”, “Isabella and the Temple of Sap”, “Cheer Up Candace”, “Robot Rodeo”, “Lotsa Latkes”, “Agent Doof”, “Where’s Perry Part 1”, “Where’s Perry Part 2” and “What’d I Miss”.

While the full series can be accessed on Amazon Prime or Netflix, Disney has yet to release any of Phineas & Ferb‘s four seasons on DVD (apart from the TV movie). So this DVD, containing 12 very funny episodes of Perry and the Animal Agents of the O.W.C.A. (Organization Without A Cool Acronym) are a real treat. There’s so much content on this DVD that it will definitely keep the kiddos entertained for a while.

The Features ★★1/2

Really, this disc is really lacking, but the extras are not. There is only one feature called “Take Two With Phineas & Ferb”, where Phineas and Ferb with cameos from real-life celebrities. There is, however, a fun spy kit that includes a pair of foldable binoculars, official O.W.C.A note sheets, trading cards, and an official O.W.C.A ID badge.

Final Thoughts

If you have kids, I’m almost positive they will love this show (if they already don’t already) and this DVD. I, for one, will be gifting this DVD to my nephew for his birthday as he’s obsessed with Perry and Phineas & Ferb (as he’s frequently decked out in Perry wear). I’m pretty sure he’ll be the happiest kid on the block.
