A new set of high-res Monsters University stills recently hit the web, not so much as marketing for the movie itself, but rather to showcase their photo-realism achieved using Renderman.MonstersU_Renderman

The stills, which were released on Pixar’s Renderman website, include 8 images total.  Most of these are images that have already been seen through trailers and other promotional materials; however, there are a few new stills in there too.

While these stills may not feature a whole lot of new information or excitement about the film, they are definitely worth taking a look at in full screen mode because of how beautiful they truly are.  Pixar clearly chose these images to showcase Renderman: Pixar’s rendering software that is used not only to render Pixar films, but many of the films that include special effects.

One could spend a long time looking at these images and still not see all the details on these images.  How many monsters can you spot in the background?
