
Just in from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Paperman won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. The win follows a steady wave of fan buzz and an Annie Award.
A tremendous congratulations to director John Kahrs and everyone at Walt Disney Animation Studios. This is Disney Animation’s first nomination in the category since 2006’s The Little Match Girl, and its first win since 1969’s It’s Tough to Be a Bird. Kahrs thanked John Lasseter and Ed Catmull in his acceptance speech for revitalizing Disney.
