DreamWorks released the teaser trailer of its new film Rise of the Guardians. This news comes the same week after we got Hotel Translyvania’s first trailer and a new Brave TV spot, so apparently it’s a big week for animation trailers.

In the trailer, we get a deeper glimpse at the main characters.  The heroes—Jack Frost (Chris Pine), the Toothy Fairy (Isla Isher), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), Santa (Alec Baldwin) and the Sandman—are the guardians whose duty it is to protect the children of the world, as long as the children still believe in the beloved childhood legends. They show off their impressive powers in the trailer as they fight against the film’s villian, Pitch the Boogeyman (Jude Law).

In the The Rotoscopers podcast episode 3, we mentioned that teaser poster didn’t do much for us and that the characters looked a bit generic. But after seeing the trailer,  my opinion has competely changed! I’m loving the animation and feel of this film. The characters are darker than what you typically imagine, but they still seem loving and trustworthy.

Rise of the Guardians will be released in theatres in the US on Novemeber 21, 2012. What character are you most looking forward to seeing on the big screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
