Heartwarming New Trailer For Pixar’s ‘Finding Dory’ Released

finding-dory-still

Disney is debuting a really cool technology in movie theaters this week with Finding Dory: thanks to smart audio syncing and the Disney Movies Anywhere app fans of the forgetful Dory who have low-vision or are blind will be able to enjoy the new Pixar movie in theaters.

It works like this: You download the app on your iPhone or iPad (no news on when this will available for Android users) and put on a set of ear buds. The app will use the film’s audio to sync and you’ll hear a free audio description of the on-screen action. This technology has been available in select theaters for a while now but it required special gear. Making it available on people’s phone is a huge step towards making sure everyone can enjoy these movies.

Hopefully more studios follow along and make these descriptions available in apps of their own, for all kinds of phones. This is a really cool idea and it’s good to hear even more people will have their hearts broken by Andrew Stanton’s third Pixar film. In a good way, obviously.

Movies like Toy Story, The Lion King and Aladdin made him fall in love with the art form and now he hopes to dedicate his life to telling stories, hopefully for Pixar (if they go back to doing original films). Some of his ambitions are making a movie as emotionally impacting as Toy Story 3, meeting JK Rowling, and petting a million dogs. Follow him on Twitter (@PabloRV7).
