Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in New Shorts for Disney Channel

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in New Shorts for Disney ChannelDisney Channel has ordered a second season of Mickey Mouse, the series of three-minute shorts starring Disney’s first icon. The season premiere, Cable Car Choas, will debut April 11 at 9:00 p.m. EST.

The adventures, created by Disney Television Animation, will continue to see Mickey and the gang all over the world in frantic, cartoony predicaments, with new locales including India, Spain, Holland, and space. This season will also see Minnie in the spotlight in a few of her own escapades.

The series debuted in June 2013 and has since gone on to win Emmy and Annie awards. The shorts are praised for their unique artistic style and nods to Disney history (like one cartoon having Mickey conduct his own backyard miniature railroad, just like Walt).

The entire season one library is available on Disney.com and on the Mickey Mouse app. As a sample, check out this season one short, Yodelberg, with influences from Disneyland and legendary Disney artist Mary Blair:
