Times are a-changin’, and animated royalty is anything but excluded. In an effort to keep things fresh, every now and then Disney updates the design of its classic princesses’ attire, and the newest wave is the biggest so far.
The past few months have seen the dawn of another across-the-board re-do of the Disney princesses’ looks (and back in February, The Rotoscopers’ Animation Addicts podcast discussed this very subject). Normally, the changes are restricted to consumer products and promotional material, but this round’s new hairdos and costumes are slowly inching their way into Disney’s theme parks. The princesses’ walk-around characters are gradually receiving a head-to-toe makeover, one at a time.
So far Cinderella (last October), Belle (February), and Aurora (just last week) are the only leading ladies to receive some extra Pixie Dust. It is unknown when or how many other makeovers will follow.
Here are some before/after pictures of the new looks thanks to our friends at the Unofficial Disney Character Hunting Guide (@wdwmickeyhunter on Twitter). They are the go-to source for Disney character news!
