Disney’s ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Will Feature Cameos from Famous Video Game Characters

Wreck-It-Ralph-Face-angryCinemaCon proved to be a great day for animation news. Pixar seemed to steal the show with its slew of announcements, but Walt Disney Animation Studios had some interesting tidbits it shared about its upcoming arcade game-inspired release, Wreck-It Ralph.

At D23 last year, it was hinted that perhaps classic video game characters would make an appearance, but nothing was officially confirmed. But a screening of the opening sequence of Wreck-It Ralph proved that those the video game cameos were indeed officially in the final film. The scene screened shows Ralph attending a support group meeting for bad guys and features cameos of famous video game baddies and bosses.

/Film and EW reported that characters in the support group scene and other scenes included classic characters from Nintendo, Midway Games, Atari, Sega and others:

  • Bowser (Super Mario Bros.)
  • Doctor Eggman (Sonic the Hedgehog)
  • Kano (Mortal Kombat)
  • Clyde the Orange Ghost (Pac-Man)
  • Zangief (Street Fighter II)
  • M. Bison (Street Fighter II)
  • Coily the Snake (Q*bert)
  • Zombie (Resident Evil)

Hopefully there will be other cameos throughout the entire film. What video game character would you like to see make an appearance in Wreck-It Ralph?
