Recently, the company chose\u00a0to partner with Sephora, the powerhouse makeup superstore, for many of its Disney and princess-related makeup lines. I'm happy to see Disney release the collection\u00a0with MAC Cosmetics because, in my opinion, MAC's quality is significantly better than many of the other Disney-inspired releases I've tested out at Sephora. In the trailer, Hiro is attempting to outfit the plushy, soft robot, Baymax, with armor. All seems to work, until the armor comes flying off in all directions. It's not a total loss because Baymax's girdle is the last piece to hold on for a brief moment until that too comes shooting off like a rocket. The scene is comedic, fun and gives us our first glimpse of the characters. Those who don't know much about the film's plot might be confused from this short clip about the who, what, when, where and why, but most likely that will be cleared up in the full trailer that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/05\/16\/big-hero-6-teaser-trailer-to-debut-online-may-22\/\">will be released online tomorrow<\/a>. Today Disney released the first poster and teaser trailer for the new live-action film<em>\u00a0<strong>Cinderella<\/strong><\/em>. Both the poster and teaser trailer focus\u00a0on one of the most iconic parts of the Cinderella fairy tale: no, not the dress or the pumpkin coach, the glass slipper!\r\n\r\n<center><\/center><center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_wppM8ycod0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><center><\/center>The teaser trailer really is a tease as it doesn't show any final footage or characters, which is expected. Instead it features an angelic-sounding choir as the camera slow pans around something very sparkly. The camera is so zoomed in that we can't really tell what it us (well, let's be honest, we all know what it is) until it zooms out for the big reveal: the glass slipper. And we must say, the slipper is gorgeous. Honestly, it looks more like a crystal slipper than a glass slipper.\u00a0Disney really did a great job in designing it to make it look modern, chic and, of course, sparkly. It even has a moving butterfly at the toe, which is a modern touch. The pink butterfly actually tints the slipper slightly pink, as the color travels through all the faceted surfaces of the show.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster-691x1024.jpg\" alt=\"disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster\" width=\"454\" height=\"673\" \/><\/a>\r\nThe poster is equally beautiful. It showcases the glass slipper in all its glory. The background and main color scheme of the poster is blue, which has in recent years become Cinderella's signature color (even though we all know that her dress in the original animated film is white\/silver, not blue). The simplicity of this poster is great because it gives viewers just enough to get excited for March, when the film is released. Even though we would love to see more of the cast, these teasers are a great first step. It's just enough of a tease to get you excited for what's to come. Also, it's most likely that this teaser will play in front of\u00a0<em>Maleficent<\/em>, whose audience will have interest in both films.\r\n\r\nOfficial synopsis:\r\n<blockquote><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The story of \u201cCinderella\u201d follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella\u2019s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother\u2019s dying words and to \u201chave courage and be kind.\u201d She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella\u2019s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/life\/movies\/2014\/05\/27\/book-of-life-channing-tatum-jorge-gutierrez\/9304799\/\" target=\"_blank\">USA Today<\/a>\u00a0got a sneak peak at some screenshots. And boy, we must say: this film looks gorgeous.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/the-book-of-life-screenshot-1.jpg\" alt=\"the-book-of-life-screenshot-1\" width=\"680\" height=\"510\" \/>\r\n\r\nWe also got a bit more information about the film's plot, which features a love triangle between three childhood friends: strong-jawed\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\">Manolo (D<\/span>iego Luna<span style=\"color: #333333;\">),\u00a0<\/span>mustachioed Joaquin (Channing Tatum)<span style=\"color: #333333;\">, and Maria (<\/span>Zoe Saldana<span style=\"color: #333333;\">). But things get shaken up\u00a0after \"the unpredictable gods wager on which man will win Maria's heart.\"<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe story focuses on the romantic Manolo, whose family has a long lineage of bull fighters. He has a lifetime of fierce competition with his friend Joaquin, but also has another struggle: he wants to be a guitarist, not a bullfighter. Unfortunately, this news doesn't go over too well with <span style=\"color: #333333;\">his father, the world's greatest matador (<\/span>Hector Elizondo<span style=\"color: #333333;\">) and super-macho grandfather (<\/span>Danny Trejo<span style=\"color: #333333;\">). So Manolo goes on a magic journey to discover himself, which leads him \"from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Remembered, where people who have lived complete lives, and are remembered among the living, go after they die. A final, daunting destination is The Land of the Forgotten, where those who have died with unfulfilled lives dwell.\"<\/span>\r\n\r\nAlong the way, he encounters his bullfighter great-grandfather\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\">(<\/span>Placido Domingo<span style=\"color: #333333;\">)<\/span>, who, like Manolo, had other life ambitions: he always wanted to be an opera singer. We also are introduced to other\u00a0characters, such as a Candle Maker (played by rapper Ice Cube)<span style=\"color: #333333;\">, who is an ancient god with a beard made of clouds and a wax body.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nWe've been anxiously waiting for months for our first look at\u00a0<em>The Book of Life<\/em>'s final design and it definitely impresses. The stylized, angular, colorful look of the world and characters is refreshing. The characters look as if they were carved out of wood, which is visually interesting and appealing. Honestly, we can't stop looking at these screenshots because they are so intricate and beautiful. But friendship always wins. That's the message of this story: love and friendship and what you're willing to sacrifice for these ideas.\"<\/span>\r\n\r\n<em>The Book of Life\u00a0<\/em>is directed by\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\">Jorge Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro. With the help of Del Toro, Gutierrez\u00a0was finally able to get the film made after 14 years of pitching it. Reel FX, the maker of last year's holiday film <em>Free Birds<\/em>,\u00a0is animating the film.\u00a0Most people weren't blown away by that film, but there's no question that\u00a0<em>The Book of Life<\/em> is extraordinarily beautiful. There's a lot of hype around when a studio releases the first trailer for a film. Today,\u00a0Dallas-based animation studio Reel FX is getting on the trailer-hype train and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bookoflifemovie\/photos\/a.539699632805751.1073741828.381348491974200\/540980859344295\/?type=1&theater\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> on its Facebook page that the first trailer for\u00a0<em><strong>The Book of Life<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>will go live tomorrow.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/the-book-of-life-teaser-trailer-one-day.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15310\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/the-book-of-life-teaser-trailer-one-day.jpg\" alt=\"the-book-of-life-teaser-trailer-one-day\" width=\"594\" height=\"495\" \/><\/a>\r\nThe studio also announced that the trailer will play before <em>Maleficent<\/em>, which is a safe choice considering a lot of Disney lovers will see\u00a0the film this weekend and most likely will be more drawn to\u00a0the animated <em>The Book of Life. <\/em>The <em>Big Hero 6 <\/em>trailer\u00a0(which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/05\/22\/big-hero-6-teaser-trailer-released\/\" target=\"_blank\">released online last week<\/a>) will also play in front of <em>Maleficent<\/em>.\r\n\r\nReel FX also started an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bookoflifemovie\" target=\"_blank\">official Facebook page<\/a> for\u00a0<em>The Book of Life<\/em> last week. If you want to argue in favor or against the points made in this article or provide your own thoughts on the matter, you can do so in the comment section below!<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Just yesterday, people got their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/05\/22\/big-hero-6-teaser-trailer-released\/\" target=\"_blank\">first taste<\/a> of Disney and Marvel's first animated collaboration <strong><em>Big Hero 6<\/em><\/strong><i>. <\/i>Repeating a formula not-too-dissimilar to past animated movies (from Disney\/Pixar and others), the teaser plays like a short film, as we see the creation of Baymax's robotic suit of armor. Following that, we're given a montage of scenes where Hiro Hamada is attempting to put the individual pieces of armor on Baymax, first shown as a chubby, white, harmless bugger of a robot. Think EVE form <i>Wall-E <\/i>crossed with the Stay Puft Marshmallow man from <em>Ghostbusters.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n<center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OvgyXKDXdZY\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Once the armor is fully on, we are given really cool-looking shot of Baymax in full, all-out <i>Iron Man-<\/i>esque attire, accompanied by a suitably heroic score (that will sound familiar to anybody who's seen <em>The Avengers<\/em><i>). <\/i>This is, of course, before we are brought back down to the humor as Baymax's suit pops off and he reverts back to his child-like nature, with Hiro in obvious disapproval.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Speaking of similar teasers, there is of course the inevitable comparison to the <a href=\"<iframe%20width="640" height="360" src="\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Jd1bwuS4oQc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\" target=\"_blank\">first teaser<\/a> put out for Pixar's <em>The Incredibles<\/em><i>. <\/i>But another teaser it brings to mind, if only for how much better it is in comparison, is the first teaser for this little movie that <a href=\"<iframe%20width="640" height="360" src="\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/S1x76DoACB8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\" target=\"_blank\">got released<\/a> a while ago called <em>Froze<\/em><i>n. <\/i>Putting aside the fact that it's now Disney's new golden goose for the time being, when that teaser came out it immediately drew the ire of Disney fans, animation lovers, and just about anybody who wasn't a six year old, immediately becoming the worse teaser trailer ever made. And rightfully so, as the whole thing played out like a poor man's <em>Looney Tunes<\/em><i>. <\/i>Again, it was entertaining....provided that you were anywhere under the age of 10.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Compare this to the overwhelmingly positive response to <em>Big Hero 6<\/em>'s very first teaser. Having watched it several times, I pondered over what exactly made this teaser a success in the way that <i>Frozen's <\/i>wasn't?<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">I finally nailed down to about three reasons as to why it was simply <i>better:<\/i><\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"p3\">1. <b>It connected with the plot.<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">I have a challenge for <em>Frozen<\/em> fans: watch the first teaser with Olaf and Sven. Can you guess what the film will be about? I couldn't. Even after watching the movie, I still can't.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">It's <i>possible <\/i>to sell a really cool teaser trailer that tells you next to nothing about the movie's plot (see: <a href=\"<iframe%20width="640" height="360" src="\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/68AqHwgk2s8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\" target=\"_blank\"><em>How To Train Your Dragon 2<\/em><\/a>). Putting two slapstick characters upfront and center for your first teaser is one thing. Having them spend nearly a minute and a half doing an asinine comedy routine that tells you nothing except that its two characters (possibly sidekicks) doing an asinine comedy routine is a golden example of hilariously bad marketing.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">By comparison, whoever is doing the marketing for <em>Big Hero 6<\/em> is playing it smart by having its primary characters (Hiro and Baymax) at the focus. It also benefits from the fact that it's not completely a farcical riot (I'll elaborate on this later). In this teaser, Hiro Hamada is shown designing and developing the tech armor (applying textures, going through poses, etc). It's a neat little touch that hints at Hiro's prowess as a super-genuis prodigy, in addition to also, on the whole, showing the friendship between him and Baymax. I think directors Don Hall and Chris Williams said it best when speaking to Yahoo Movies:\u00a0 \u201cHiro wants to take the healing, loving, guileless nurse robot and turn it into a mechanized warrior,\u201d says Williams. \u201cThat\u2019s sort of the backbone of the film.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"p3\">2. <b>It struck a balance.<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">It's hard to argue that the <em>Frozen<\/em> teaser leaned too much on comedy, to the detriment of people's then-expectations.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">It's here that the teaser for <em>Big Hero 6<\/em>\u00a0succeeds with flying colors. This is the reason why everyone is getting hooked on it despite not knowing the comic book it's based on.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">It has that very Disney 'cuteness' factor that's a big draw for kids and family audiences, yet it still bows it's head towards the superhero flavor and the 'boy and his X' character journey just enough to interest the older demographic.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"p3\">3. <b>It doesn't overdo the comedy.<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Let's face it, <em>Frozen<\/em>'s first teaser simply tried TOO hard to be funny, to the point of almost reaching a new level of annoying.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">Yes, <em>Big Hero 6<\/em>'s teaser is, ultimately, using comedy to sell the film at this stage. But it's humor that's chuckle-worthy, if familiar. Again, it's the cute factor that ultimately makes it.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">There are probably other reasons that I'm not aware of, but those were the ones that I specifically pinpointed as specific reasons. And if you ask me, <em>Big Hero 6<\/em>\u00a0may have all the ingredients for another successful Disney film. <em>Frozen<\/em> was at best decent, but I personally find their films more fun when they turn their attention away from their 'Princess' brand.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p3\">With a teaser like the one <em>Frozen<\/em> received, it's almost a miracle that the movie did as well as it did. You'll leave the theatre loving everything you just saw and wanting to see it again and again.\r\n\r\n<em>X-Men: Days of Future Past\u00a0<\/em>picks up a few decades after the original X-Men trilogy. A small band of mutants are on the run, trying to hide from mutant-killing Sentinel robots, which have successful destroyed nearly all the mutants on the planet. Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Storm (Halle Berry) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman)\u00a0arrive and deduce\u00a0that this mutant genocide could have been prevented if Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) hadn't\u00a0murdered the Sentinels' creator Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage)\u00a0in the 70s<span style=\"color: #252525;\">. As a last ditch effort, the mutants\u00a0<\/span>use Kitty Pride's (Ellen Page) powers to help Wolverine travel back in the past\u00a0to\u00a0stop Mystique from killing Trask.\r\n\r\nThis film expertly blends the old- and new-school X-Men casts, making it feel like natural extensions of each of those series. After nearly eight years, the old characters are welcome additions, especially the return of Patrick Stewart's calm, serene Professor X and Hugh Jackman with his seventh appearance as the grungy Wolverine. It's a good thing Jackman's\u00a0character doesn't age because his performance in this film leaves you\u00a0wanting even more of the incredible Logan.\r\n\r\nThe new X-Men characters are also wonderful. James McAvoy's depiction of the troubled and complex Charles Xavier is a standout. Jennifer Lawrence is charming in nearly everything she does and her Mystique is no different.\r\n\r\nEvan Peters plays\u00a0<span style=\"color: #222222;\">Quicksilver, a mutant who can run at lightning speed, and is clearly\u00a0the breakout character of the film. Quicksilver steals the show every time he's on scene, especially when he's running around and it seems as though time has stopped around him. The\u00a0filmmakers don't overuse him, which would make\u00a0these scenes lose their effect and novelty.<\/span>\r\n\r\nWhenever a movie or book deals with time travel, things get a bit sticky. However, the way it is portrayed in\u00a0<em>X-Men: Days of Future Past\u00a0<\/em>is perhaps one of the best, simplest uses of time travel I've seen. When it's all said it done, you're not sitting there scratching your head thinking about loopholes, but rather it all makes sense. It also sets up the series in an interesting way, making\u00a0me excited for <em>X-Men: Apocalypse<\/em> and other future\u00a0<em>X-Men<\/em> films.\r\n\r\n<em>X-Men: Days of Future Past\u00a0<\/em>is the summer's first must-see movie and is no doubt going to be a summer blockbuster. You'll even want to see it again and again--it's that good.\r\n<h3><span style=\"color: #545454;\">\u272e<\/span><span style=\"color: #545454;\">\u272e<\/span><span style=\"color: Recently, the company chose\u00a0to partner with Sephora, the powerhouse makeup superstore, for many of its Disney and princess-related makeup lines. I'm happy to see Disney release the collection\u00a0with MAC Cosmetics because, in my opinion, MAC's quality is significantly better than many of the other Disney-inspired releases I've tested out at Sephora. In the trailer, Hiro is attempting to outfit the plushy, soft robot, Baymax, with armor. All seems to work, until the armor comes flying off in all directions. It's not a total loss because Baymax's girdle is the last piece to hold on for a brief moment until that too comes shooting off like a rocket. The scene is comedic, fun and gives us our first glimpse of the characters. Those who don't know much about the film's plot might be confused from this short clip about the who, what, when, where and why, but most likely that will be cleared up in the full trailer that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/05\/16\/big-hero-6-teaser-trailer-to-debut-online-may-22\/\">will be released online tomorrow<\/a>. Today Disney released the first poster and teaser trailer for the new live-action film<em>\u00a0<strong>Cinderella<\/strong><\/em>. Both the poster and teaser trailer focus\u00a0on one of the most iconic parts of the Cinderella fairy tale: no, not the dress or the pumpkin coach, the glass slipper!\r\n\r\n<center><\/center><center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_wppM8ycod0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><center><\/center>The teaser trailer really is a tease as it doesn't show any final footage or characters, which is expected. Instead it features an angelic-sounding choir as the camera slow pans around something very sparkly. The camera is so zoomed in that we can't really tell what it us (well, let's be honest, we all know what it is) until it zooms out for the big reveal: the glass slipper. And we must say, the slipper is gorgeous. Honestly, it looks more like a crystal slipper than a glass slipper.\u00a0Disney really did a great job in designing it to make it look modern, chic and, of course, sparkly. It even has a moving butterfly at the toe, which is a modern touch. The pink butterfly actually tints the slipper slightly pink, as the color travels through all the faceted surfaces of the show.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster-691x1024.jpg\" alt=\"disney-live-action-cinderella-2015-poster\" width=\"454\" height=\"673\" \/><\/a>\r\nThe poster is equally beautiful. It showcases the glass slipper in all its glory. The background and main color scheme of the poster is blue, which has in recent years become Cinderella's signature color (even though we all know that her dress in the original animated film is white\/silver, not blue). The simplicity of this poster is great because it gives viewers just enough to get excited for March, when the film is released. Even though we would love to see more of the cast, these teasers are a great first step. It's just enough of a tease to get you excited for what's to come. Also, it's most likely that this teaser will play in front of\u00a0<em>Maleficent<\/em>, whose audience will have interest in both films.\r\n\r\nOfficial synopsis:\r\n<blockquote><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The story of \u201cCinderella\u201d follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. But, when Ella\u2019s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
