A few weeks ago, we got the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/06\/05\/sailor-moon-crystal-trailer-will-blow-you-away\/\" target=\"_blank\">official trailer<\/a>\u00a0and it looks like today Sailor Moon's new transformation sequence has leaked.\r\n\r\nThe sequence was uploaded in its entirety in a side-by-side comparison video with\u00a0the original transformation from the classic 1992 anime. Skip to <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/g1xXXfvBPc0?t=44s\" target=\"_blank\">0:44<\/a> if you want to watch just the new sequence.\r\n\r\n<center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g1xXXfvBPc0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>\r\nThe transformation is a perfect balance of old and new. It kept nostalgic elements from the original transformation that are now considered staples in the <em>Sailor Moon<\/em> fandom, such as focus on Sailor Moon's\u00a0nails, front\u00a0bow, gloves, boots, jewelry,\u00a0skirt, and tiara. The ribbon motif also remained, in addition to the psychedelic\u00a0coloring of Sailor Moon during the beginning of her transformation.\r\n\r\nBut this new sequence also has a lot more flair. The advances in animation make it easier to zoom around Sailor Moon at different angles, instead of the shot being generally static in front of her. The new scene is also about 10 seconds longer than the original and, admittedly, it does feel a bit too long. Most likely the sequence won't be\u00a0shown in its entirety for most episodes.\r\n\r\nHowever, it's obvious a CG model was used for Sailor Moon for this sequence, which at times looks a bit bizarre. The new thinner, lankier\u00a0character design also makes it look like she has spaghetti arms during certain parts of the sequence that is a bit unappealing. The series was created by Noah Z. Jones and developed by Joel Trussell, both of whom will serve as executive producers on the series. A few weeks ago, we got the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/06\/05\/sailor-moon-crystal-trailer-will-blow-you-away\/\" target=\"_blank\">official trailer<\/a>\u00a0and it looks like today Sailor Moon's new transformation sequence has leaked.\r\n\r\nThe sequence was uploaded in its entirety in a side-by-side comparison video with\u00a0the original transformation from the classic 1992 anime. Skip to <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/g1xXXfvBPc0?t=44s\" target=\"_blank\">0:44<\/a> if you want to watch just the new sequence.\r\n\r\n<center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g1xXXfvBPc0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>\r\nThe transformation is a perfect balance of old and new. It kept nostalgic elements from the original transformation that are now considered staples in the <em>Sailor Moon<\/em> fandom, such as focus on Sailor Moon's\u00a0nails, front\u00a0bow, gloves, boots, jewelry,\u00a0skirt, and tiara. The ribbon motif also remained, in addition to the psychedelic\u00a0coloring of Sailor Moon during the beginning of her transformation.\r\n\r\nBut this new sequence also has a lot more flair. The advances in animation make it easier to zoom around Sailor Moon at different angles, instead of the shot being generally static in front of her. The new scene is also about 10 seconds longer than the original and, admittedly, it does feel a bit too long. Most likely the sequence won't be\u00a0shown in its entirety for most episodes.\r\n\r\nHowever, it's obvious a CG model was used for Sailor Moon for this sequence, which at times looks a bit bizarre. The new thinner, lankier\u00a0character design also makes it look like she has spaghetti arms during certain parts of the sequence that is a bit unappealing. The series was created by Noah Z. Jones and developed by Joel Trussell, both of whom will serve as executive producers on the series. Mark Rivers is the story editor.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #373737;\">Disney TV Animation\u2019s Eric Coleman, senior v-p of original series, commented saying,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWe see very few pitches that are as funny and original as <em>Pickle & Peanut<\/em>. We instantly fell in love with these characters, and Noah and Joel have built a world with a visual style and sensibility unlike anything on TV.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Honestly, there isn't anything appealing about this show to me, but maybe I'm a bit out of the show's demographic. href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment\/movies\/moviesnow\/la-et-mn-first-look-pixar-lava-20140711-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">LA Times<\/a>. The still shows a jolly male \u00a0volcano grinning ear to ear. And we must admit, he's adorable.\r\n\r\nThe short is a 7-minute, 9-minute second love story about two volcanos, which will span millions\u00a0of years, showing the two's romantic history evolve as they do. (We suspect that time will force them together after eons of being apart.) The volcano shown in the still is Uku (voiced by Kuana Torres Kahele, who is also the short's narrator), the short's lead charater who is \"c<span style=\"color: #666666;\">rusty and prone to eruptions, but with a warm core underneath.\" His design is creative\u00a0and very appealing, as he is arms and other body parts are formed from\u00a0lava flows. Uku's love interest (not shown) is named Lele (voiced by Napua Greig).<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\r\n<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/pixar-lava-short-first-look-screenshot-uku-lele.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16526\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/pixar-lava-short-first-look-screenshot-uku-lele-1024x429.jpg\" alt=\"pixar-lava-short-first-look-screenshot-uku-lele\" width=\"620\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nPixar's shorts are typically known as hotbeds of innovation, as they are used to explore new techniques, such as the photorealism found in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/tag\/the-blue-umbrella\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Blue Umbrella<\/em><\/a>, a first for Pixar. This film is no different as director James Ford Murphy and producer Andrea Warren attempted to achieve a sense of live-action scale that is usually achieved through helicopter shots. It's definitely a feat for computer animation, which normally \"<span style=\"color: #666666;\">choke[s] on that much visual information.\"<\/span>\r\n\r\nIt's interesting that this film is being promoted as a musical, something that Pixar usually strays away from. Will the volcanos sing? Or will the songs be performed by a another singer? Pixar always delights and surprises, so no matter what it is, we know it's going to be good. Murphy mentioned how he was very influenced by Hawaiian music and island culture growing up, so there's no question that the score will have a very distinct Hawaiian vibe.\r\n\r\n<em>Lava\u00a0<\/em>will premiere this Monday\u00a0at the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #373737;\">Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan<i>, which is a perfect setting considering Japan is an island nation formed itself by volcanos.<\/i><\/span>\r\n\r\nAfter making rounds at the festival circuit,\u00a0<em>Lava<\/em> will premiere to worldwide audience before\u00a0<em>Inside Out<\/em> on June 19, 2015.\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">What do you think about the first still from\u00a0<em>'Lava'? A few months ago, we got a glimpse of the main baddie the Inquisitor and today we get the\u00a0scoop about his right-hand man Agent Kallus, the\u00a0\"rebel hunter\" who will be voiced by David Oyelowo.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/star-wars-rebels-villain-agent-kallus-rebel-hunter-.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16475\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/star-wars-rebels-villain-agent-kallus-rebel-hunter-.jpg\" alt=\"star-wars-rebels-villain-agent-kallus-rebel-hunter\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nAgent Kallus is described by executive producer Dave Filoni as an evil agent for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB),\u00a0which is can be compared to a blend of the FBI and military police. His job is to make sure that everyone stays loyal to the empire or he'll cut them out. His weapon of choice is a bit unconvential as it's a modified version of Zeb's honor guard staff. A few weeks ago, we got the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotoscopers.com\/2014\/06\/05\/sailor-moon-crystal-trailer-will-blow-you-away\/\" target=\"_blank\">official trailer<\/a>\u00a0and it looks like today Sailor Moon's new transformation sequence has leaked.\r\n\r\nThe sequence was uploaded in its entirety in a side-by-side comparison video with\u00a0the original transformation from the classic 1992 anime. Skip to <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/g1xXXfvBPc0?t=44s\" target=\"_blank\">0:44<\/a> if you want to watch just the new sequence.\r\n\r\n<center><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g1xXXfvBPc0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>\r\nThe transformation is a perfect balance of old and new. It kept nostalgic elements from the original transformation that are now considered staples in the <em>Sailor Moon<\/em> fandom, such as focus on Sailor Moon's\u00a0nails, front\u00a0bow, gloves, boots, jewelry,\u00a0skirt, and tiara. The ribbon motif also remained, in addition to the psychedelic\u00a0coloring of Sailor Moon during the beginning of her transformation.\r\n\r\nBut this new sequence also has a lot more flair. The advances in animation make it easier to zoom around Sailor Moon at different angles, instead of the shot being generally static in front of her. The new scene is also about 10 seconds longer than the original and, admittedly, it does feel a bit too long. Most likely the sequence won't be\u00a0shown in its entirety for most episodes.\r\n\r\nHowever, it's obvious a CG model was used for Sailor Moon for this sequence, which at times looks a bit bizarre. The new thinner, lankier\u00a0character design also makes it look like she has spaghetti arms during certain parts of the sequence that is a bit unappealing. The drawings have that distinct Glen Keane look and feel that are completely captivating. The animation is\u00a0fresh, lively and exciting and draws emotion from the viewer in a way that not many CGI films can. The series was created by Noah Z. Jones and developed by Joel Trussell, both of whom will serve as executive producers on the series.
