Nickelodeon announced multiple tv movies based on some of its older properties over the past two years. These have included the live-action Legends of the Hidden Temple movie, and movies based on Hey Arnold!, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Invader Zim. The Legends of the Hidden Temple movie released last year, but we hadn’t even seen footage of any of the animated movies until this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
On Thursday, the first clip from Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling was shown. In it, Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt explore O-Town in today’s times, which has changed quite a bit since the 1990s. They discover strange, new experiences including 3-D printing and dark, gritty comic book movies. Although the things being satirized may have changed, the humor and animation still feel like the Rocko’s Modern Life audiences fell in love with over 20 years ago. Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling releases in 2018.
On Friday, the first clip from the long-awaited Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie was shown. In this clip, Arnold’s friends put together a video highlighting his good deeds and the people he has helped and touched over the years. Throughout this clip, fan favorite characters like Pigeon Man and Stoop Kid make appearances as well as references to episodes of the original series. This was the perfect clip to showcase first as it not only reminded audiences of Arnold’s previous adventures but will also hype them up for the further clips and trailers to come as well as the movie of course. Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie releases this November.
Are you looking forward to these movies? Which one are you more excited for?
