[Watch] First Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Buddy Thunderstruck’

Netflix has been hitting them out of the park recently, and diversifying its lineup in completely unexpected ways! Case in point, its brand new animated series, Buddy Thunderstruck!

Buddy Thunderstruck in a stop motion animated series that follows the adventures of a dog who races monster trucks, and it’s apparently a family series from the makers of Robot Chicken and The Care Bears! I didn’t know what to expect when I first heard about this, and then I watched the trailer.

I have to say, I am actually impressed! I genuinely laughed more than once, and the animation and character designs look great! Not much is known about the series so far, but from the trailer alone I’d have to say this actually looks promising!

When I first heard the studio behind Robot Chicken was behind Buddy Thunderstruck, I was expecting it to be just another animated series for adults. After all, in this day and age, stop motion entertainment for families is extremely rare. The medium seems to have shifted in a more adult direction. But everything I’ve read so far points to this being a show aimed at kids and families, so I am hoping that it lives up to the trailer’s potential. I’d love to see more stop motion entertainment for all ages out there.

The team-up between American Greetings Entertainment, the Care Bears team, and Stoopid Buddy Studios, the Robot Chicken team, is not something that I would have predicted, but it’s just so weird that I’m hoping it’s a great match. I tend to really love odd pairings, so I am pulling for this project to work.

All episodes of Buddy Thunderstruck will premiere on March 10th, exclusively on Netflix.

What do you think about this trailer? Will you check out Buddy Thunderstruck in March?
