The cast for the reboot of cult British television series Danger Mouse was revealed at San Diego’s Comic-Con, along with a new trailer that gives us a peek into the show’s updated look.
Danger Mouse, which originally ran from 1981-1992, was a very popular show with both kids and adults because of its witty humor and talented voice actors, David Jason and Terry Scott. Now the show has been given a brand new make-over with fresh animation and a new voice cast.
The eye-patched secret agent Danger Mouse will now be voice by comedian Alexander Armstrong and his bumbling sidekick, Penfold, will be voiced by Kevin Eldon. Danger Mouse’s boss, Colonel K, will be voiced by actor and presenter Stephen Fry. Game of Thrones star Lena Headey and talk show host John Oliver will be voicing brand new characters, US Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse and the mad scientist wolf Dr Augustus P. Crumhorn III.
The theme tune has been given a snazzy new update and the animation has been given a slick revamp. No longer will they have to hide the character’s mouths behind items when they speak to cut back on cost like they did with the original series. But let’s hope they still keep that snappy humor and that endearing relationship between DM and Penfold that the original series was so good at. If you don’t remember Danger Mouse, you might remember its popular spin-off series Count Duckula, who will also make an appearance in the reboot.
