According to The Telegraph, we’ve learned the sad news that the accomplished voice actor, Joe Alaskey, has passed away at the age of 63. Mr. Alaskey, who passed away on February 3rd, due to cancer, was seen as a successor to the voice acting legend, Mel Blanc.

This was evident by Mr. Alaskey taking over many of Mel Blanc’s characters including Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety, Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian, and Daffy Duck. Other famous roles of Mr. Alaskey’s included “Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures, Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats, and the ghost Stinkie from Casper.” Below is a clip in which Mr. Alaskey talks about his character, Plucky Duck, from Tiny Toon Adventures:

Mr. Alaskey was also a noted impressionist, doing impressions of celebrities like Woody Allen, Don Knotts, Jackie Gleason, Art Carney, Carroll O’Connor, Jean Stapleton, Jack Nicholson, etc. Below is a clip of Mr. Alaskey doing some of these impressions on what appears to be the Late Show with David Letterman:
