Last November, Cartoon Network premiered a brand new miniseries, Adventure Time: Stakes, to rave reviews, and on January 19th, you will be able to own the mini-series for yourself, when Stakes comes out on DVD.

In preparation for the release, Cartoon Network has sent us exclusive clip from one of the many extras on the DVD, an animatic from the episode, “The Empress Eyes.”

Stakes takes us deeper into Marceline’s past, as the 1000-year-old teenage Vampire Queen decides that she no longer wants to be a vampire; she wants to finally grow up. Princess Bubblegum has developed a new technique that she is certain will cure Marceline’s vampirism, and Marceline agrees to the treatment. Just as it seems that Marceline is finally cured, old foes from her past begin showing up. Ancient vampires, long since vanquished, resurface, leading to an ultimate showdown with the most powerful of them all, the Vampire King. Will Marceline be able to defeat them all once more?

Stakes stars Adventure Time regulars, Olivia Olson as Marceline, Jeremy Shada as Finn, John DiMaggio as Jake, Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum, Tom Kenny as the Ice King, Steve Little as Peppermint Butler, and Pendleton Ward as Lumpy Space Princess.

Joining the regular cast are guest stars Rebecca Romijn as The Empress, Billy Brown as The Vampire King, Paul Williams as The Hierophant, Ron Funches as The Fool, Beau Billingslea as The Moon, Kyle Kinane as Cloud Dance, and making her voice acting debut, Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar as Marceline’s mother.

The Stakes DVD will include all eight episodes from the miniseries, as well as brand new, exclusive content, including animatics, an art gallery, song demos, and a brand new song written by Rebecca Sugar herself.

Stakes will be available for purchase January 19th.
