In an article released on the Entertainment Weekly website earlier today three new stills for the upcoming animated adaptation of the immensely popular Angry Birds mobile game were revealed. The new stills feature a new look at all the birds, as well as our first look at the rival pigs who you will recognize without a doubt from the mobile game. Some new story details from the film were also revealed by directors Clay Kaytis, Fergal Reilly, and producer John Cohen.

Check out the new stills below!

We already saw a first look image of the birds that will be the film’s central characters last year, but these are our first actual stills from the film that also reveal a first look at some of the other characters. The release of these stills could indicate that a first teaser is on its way and, in the EW article, the filmmakers revealed some exciting new details about this flick.

From the article we learned that this film will be an origins story that explains why the angry birds are angry and how the conflict between the birds and pigs came to be. We also learned that it will be the job of misfits Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), and Bomb (Danny McBride) to fight back when their nests are infiltrated by the pigs
and their porcine spokesman, Leonard (Bill Hader).

The Angry Birds Movie will open in theaters on May 20, 2016.

What do you think of these stills? Are you looking forward to The Angry Birds Movie?
