NBC’s television show Constantine is now accompanied by a stop-motion webseries on DC Entertainment’s YouTube channel.

The new animated shorts are entitled John Con Noir and will run just a little over three minute an episode. DC’s Entertainment describes the show as a “noir-inspired take on the British exorcist as told through the medium of claymation.” The animation is created by Cool Town Creations, who are an independent production studio specializing in miniature set design, puppet fabrication and stop-motion animation.

Both the NBC live-action show and the stop-motion shorts are originally based on a contemporary horror comic book series, published by DC Comics, called Hellblazer about the demon hunter John Constantine. Matt Ryan, who plays the title role in the NBC series, also provides the voice of Constantine for the webseries.

In the first episode episode “Trash”, Constantine finds himself on the hunt for two missing, and very familiar, show creators, David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone. Check it out below:

What do you think of the new webseries? Do you like the animation style?
