Halloween comes early for Universal monster movie fans. Diamond Select Toys has released its new line of monster figures and to show them off, it has featured them in its first-ever stop-motion short entitled Trick or Treat.

All the classic characters are present, from Frankenstein’s monster and his bride to the Wolfman and Dracula, as they give candy to three young trick-or-treaters in their own comical way. There is even an appearance from the lesser known Metaluna Mutant and Diamond Select’s first original concept action figure, Van Helsing.

The short was animated by Alex Kropinak who used a combination of stop-motion photography and computer graphics to bring the 7-inch deluxe figures to life. The short was written by Kropinak and Diamond Select’s marketing supervisor Zach Oat.

What do you think of the Universal Monsters short? Does it put you in a ‘trick or treat’ mood?
