Nickeledoen’s The Legend of Korra returned to television on Friday for Book Three with little fanfare and low ratings, despite a thriving fandom.
The two-parter “A Breath of Fresh Air” and “Rebirth” attracting only 1.504 million viewers. The third episode, aired directly after the two-parter, managed to bring in just 1.298 million viewers. Despite abysmal numbers, the series’ all-time low was Book Two’s “Peacekeepers” with a 1.10 rating.
Possible causes for such low ratings could be Nickelodeon’s announcing the third season just a week before it aired, and the almost non-existent promotion. General interest in the series is declining as well, with Book Two showing an overall low number of viewers.
Despite all this, a fourth (and last) season is confirmed for The Legend of Korra.
The Legend of Korra airs Fridays at 8pm. The animated series will return with another two-parter next Friday following an Independence Day hiatus.
