Mickey Mouse will celebrate his 85th birthday on November 18, 2013 (Minnie will too, technically), and Disney Channel will mark the occasion with an all-new animated short, revealed in a press release.
The cartoon, entitled Potatoland, continues the Emmy-winning Mickey Mouse series that launched in June from Walt Disney Television Animation. In honor of Mickey’s special day, Potatoland will boast a seven-minute runtime, twice the length of other shorts in the series.
The new cartoon airs Monday, November 18, at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
Potatoland is not to be confused with Get a Horse!, a new black-and-white Mickey Mouse short from Walt Disney Animation Studios. It was created with the help of long-lost material from the Disney Archives, and will debut in theaters alongside Frozen on November 27.
