Disney has recently made a series of Mickey Mouse shorts, including Croissant de Triomphe. This short goes back to our favorite good old-fashioned 2D animation, with Mickey Mouse designed to be very similar to his 1930’s self (with a few modern touches of course.)
Now, this amazing short, which focuses on the story of Mickey when Minnie runs out of croissants for her bakery, has won a whopping total of three Emmys! The first two were awarded back in August for Outstanding Individual Achievement In Animation, and yesterday it was announced at the 65th Annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards that the short had won yet another Emmy, this time for Outstanding Short-format Animated Program.
Maybe it’s just me, but this is a call for more 2D animated films!
This isn’t the only Mickey Mouse short, but the only one that Disney sent off to compete at the Emmys. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s here below for your enjoyment.
