Dear-Mr-Watterson-BannerWhat began six years ago with 2,000 Kickstart backers donating $120,000 has finally come to fruition. Dear Mr. Watterson is a documentary directed by Joel Schroeder that centers itself around the love fans have for the Calvin & Hobbes comic strips which ran in newspapers from 1985-1995.

As Slashfilm mentions, Bill Watterson does not do press or interviews, so the film seems to mostly consist of fans fan-girling about their love for the strip, however with notable people such as Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Family Guy), Bill Amend (Foxtrot), and Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County), it will likely still be a wonderful look at the fandom and appreciation surrounding the comic strip.

The film, which, according to Variety, was picked up by Gravitas Ventures, will be released on November 15th in theaters and on VOD.
