Toy Story 4 is officially one month away from its June 21 release.
To celebrate, Pixar debuted the second and final trailer for the film. Check it out!
Whereas the first trailer spotlighted the return of Bo Peep (Annie Potts) to the franchise, this second trailer focuses on new character Forky (Tony Hale), a spork friend created by Bonnie. Vocalizing what many fans online have already expressed, Trixie the dinosaur has a few questions about how this whole “Forky-came-to-life?!” thing actually works. This trailer places Forky at the center of the plot, with all characters rallying to rescue him after getting lost.
The trailer also gave us our first look at Canadian daredevil Duke Kaboom (Keanu Reeves).
The new trailer is keen to mention legacy characters like Jessie, Rex, and other familiar faces who are absent from a significant amount of major publicity for the film that focuses instead on new characters.
Sharp-eyed viewers will notice a shot from Andy’s bedroom, taunting us quite mysteriously with knowledge of a flashback sequence of some sort. But is it just one scene? Is it a thread throughout the whole film? Only time will tell, but it’s intriguing nonetheless.
For reference, here was the teaser trailer, which released last November…
Toy Story 4 hits theaters June 21, marking the last Pixar sequel we’ll experience in the foreseeable future.
