From sources, such as CartoonBrew, we learned that the first trailer for the upcoming indie animated film, Animal Crackers, debuted.

Produced by Blue Dream Studios, the film centers around a family unhappy with their jobs who then inherit a circus. But, this isn’t just any circus! This circus comes with a box of magical animal crackers that transform the person who eats them into the animals they have eaten!

The film is being directed by Tony Bancroft (Mulan) and Scott Christian Sava and is based on a graphic novel written by Sava. The voice cast includes John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Ian McKellen, Danny DeVito, Sylvester Stallone, Wallace Shawn, Patrick Warburton, Gilbert Gottfried, and Raven-Symoné. The film was originally planned to be released on April 21, 2017, but has now been postponed indefinitely.

I liked this trailer. It seems like it could be clever

    • Scott Christian Sava

Thank you. I hope you enjoy the film.

We’d love to have an interview or work with you here at rotoscopers for the film

        • Scott Christian Sava

That sounds like so much fun. Just give me a shout.

Are you still releasing this on Sept 1st? We’d love to review it for the site

          • Scott Christian Sava

No. Our distributor had financial problems and we had to get a new one. Looking more like February now.

Will update everyone on the Facebook page once we have the info.

            Would love a review.

          • Rachel Wagner

That sounds great. Good luck as you go through these final stages

  • The animation is the stuff of nightmares, but at least it has a clever concept. I’ll keep an eye.

    • Scott Christian Sava

Thank you. I want to be in your nightmares. They sound AWESOME!

      • Aw, caught in the act by the director! 🙂

Regardless of what I just said, stay encouraged! I know animation is no simple task, especially under a $17 million budget. But still, I much rather have the great story anyway. Which it looks like you are achieving based on the two trailers I’ve seen. Again, I’ll keep an eye out for it!

        • Scott Christian Sava

Aw. Thank you. Honestly… we know we’re going to fall short on so many things for our first film. But proud of what we achieved with so little. Much credit goes to Carter Goodrich for his amazing designs and to Jaime Maestro for building a team of 120 incredibly talented artists out in Spain.

          • Scott Christian Sava himself reads the Rotoscopers? This is awesome!

Is there a distributor yet for this?

          • Scott Christian Sava

No. We’ve not found the right deal. Lots of offers. But Hollywood isn’t really in the business of “letting others make money”.

          • cetrata

Will the film still be out in september?

          • Scott Christian Sava

No. We’re just sitting on it now. Waiting. Hoping by end of year. Will update once we have a proper deal.

Madagascars 3 meets magic biscuits that turns into animals.

  • Phoenix Wright

It looks fun and I like the character designs. Also it uses the amazingly dramatic song from the Saving Mr. Banks trailer so that’s a plus

    • Scott Christian Sava

Katies Herzig has a song in that trailer too? How cool.
And yes. Carter’s designs are amazing.

  • Jordan Briskin

Well, if *this* gets released in theaters, then I hope by all that is holy that there will be a chance for the currently-shelved LEGEND OF TEMBO…

  • The concept sounds insanely interesting, but I don’t know how to feel about the rest of it… I mean it definitely looks like it has charm for sure!!

  • Bold decision to use clowns. A lot of people aren’t really… fond of clowns.

I am one of those people.

  • Mr.Pig

This is the weirdest thing and i hate clowns so….. i might see it lol
