It’s the annual Halloween episode of the Animation Addicts podcast and, even though we’re not reviewing a spooky film, the Rotoscopers still got dressed up in their costumes to review Disney’s 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch.

Highlights

  • Main Discussion: Lilo & Stitch (2002)
  • It’s a special Halloween episode, during which the Rotoscopers dressed up in costumes. Mason’s No Face costume FTW!
  • General facts about the film. The year 2002 wasn’t that great of a year for animation, was it? (Except for a few exceptions.)
  • Stitch mania was everywhere! Stitch is incredibly popular in Japan.
  • The film’s marketing and Stitch-takeover trailers.
  • Character designs are so appealing, yet much different from typical Disney animated films.
  • Lilo and Nani are the breakout characters!
  • Favorite moments, quotes and scenes. “Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw.”
  • Film explores the themes of loneliness, broken homes, adoption, and more.
  • The music. Not your traditional Disney musical. A few Hawaiian-esque songs plus Elvis Presley.
  • Listener question: Who is your favorite character in Lilo & Stitch and why?
  • We rate it!
  • Voicemails: Adriana, Crystal, Ellen, Gabbi, Mark, Rachel, and Sarah.
  • Don’t forget to use the hashtags #AnimAddicts and #AnimAddicts106 when talking about this episode on Twitter!

Ohhh, early upload! ^^ I watched the live stream late on Tuesday night (I’m from the UK!) and I really enjoyed it! I’m happy you played my voicemail too, but a shame Morgan’s mic and Mason’s headphones broke. Also I couldn’t respond in the chat cos every time I tried to, YouTube crashed. D:

Oh well, it was still fun and I’m looking forward to the next episode!

    • Mason Smith

Ha, the episode was DEFINITELY bewitched towards the end.

  • Adam Lenehan

Hey! I might not be a doctor, but I know there’s no better cure, for a sour day, than a couple of podcasters on some rotoscoper sound waves.

  • Sarah

Awesome new podcast as always! Let me go on record and say that I had been practicing my Stitch voice for the voicemail 😉

  • Thanks for putting together such a well-rounded podcast covering one of my all-time favorite films. For extra fun, here’s an illustrated list of the Disney-themed Easter Eggs in Lilo & Stitch:

  • I should likely use words such as “awesome” or “cool” but watching the Rotoscopers review the movie in your Halloween costumes is 100% cute!

  • This was a fun one to attend! The Phantom of the Podcast strikes yet again!

Thank you for not cleaning up the ending! That makes me very happy 🙂

And it always makes me feel smart when you guys say something that I was already thinking. So thanks for the confidence boost! 😉
