New ‘Strange Magic’ Poster Released

If you’re looking forward to next year’s first animated movie, you’re in luck. We now have the first official poster for the film:

strange-magic-poster

The Disney-backed animated movie from Lucasfilm is directed by Gary Rydstrom (known for Pixar’s Lifted and the Toy Story short Hawaiian Vacation). It is based on a story by George Lucas and is a “fairytale” inspired by Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Adding to the film’s quirk factor is the fact that it will feature popular songs from previous decades, making it a (kind of) musical in the vein of Happy Feet. Lending their voices to the film are Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Sam Palladio, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein, Peter Stormare, Meredith Anne Bull, and Maya Rudolph.

Watch out for Strange Magic when it hits theatres January 23, 2015.
