Aardman Animations popular character, Shaun the sheep, is getting a full thirty minute short entitled The Farmer’s Llamas set to be released in Christmas 2015. The short is substantially longer than the shows usual seven-minute runtime and will have a much grander storyline.

The plot will see Shaun up against a flock of suspicious llama’s who join his farm. A set of pan pipes and a poncho will help Shaun save the day, but we will have to wait a whole year to find out how. Production is to begin once Shaun the Sheep the Movie has been completed, which is to have its international release in February 2015.

Alix Wiseman, head of sales and acquisitions at Aardman, said: ‟We’re all truly excited to be seeing the story of The Farmer’s Llamas come to life and we hope our global fans will enjoy this fun new adventure as we delve deeper into Shaun’s world.”

Kristian Smith, commissioning editor of comedy, added: ‟Aardman are the inimitable masters of beautiful, funny and truly original animation which thrills all ages. BBC Comedy Commissioning is very excited to be working with them again to bring Shaun the Sheep in The Farmer’s Llamas to BBC One.”

Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run have always been a staple part of our Christmas entertainment feast in the UK. There is no doubt that this special will be very much welcomed by the whole family. The special has gained a spot on prime channel BBC One in the UK and is later set to be aired on further global channels.

The Farmer’s Llamas will be released Christmas 2015.
