Dramatic New Teaser Poster For Disney’s ‘Maleficent’

Disney Channel recently revealed a second trailer for the upcoming live action Sleeping Beauty spin-off, Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the titular villainess.

The new sneak peek tastefully integrates snippets from the original 1959 Disney animated classic, reminding viewers of the origins of the story and characters. From the new movie, we get our first look at the three good fairies, Flora, Fauna and Merriweather, baby Aurora, Prince Philip, and Aurora’s father, the king. We get a glimpse of creepy tree creatures, Maleficent’s raven Diabolo, and of course, the famous wall of thorns. Still no dragon transformation though, but we’ve got our fingers crossed for that!

Check out the new sneak peek below!

Angelina Jolie looks and sounds positively cold and evil. Her sharp cheekbones and red lips perfectly capture the essence of the character, not to mention that cold, icy stare.

Inspired by the classic fairytale, and Disney’s own 1959 animated adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent narrates the events that led a kind and gentle girl to become the Mistress of Evil. It releases worldwide May 2014.

Are you looking forward to seeing Maleficent?
