The fourteenth animated television series based on the Hanna-Barbera franchise, Scooby-Doo, has debuted on the Boomerang streaming service today.
Entitled Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, the familiar format of the show stays the same: Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Scooby-Doo (voiced by Matthew Lillard, Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Kate Micucci, and Frank Welker, respectively) solve mysteries they come across in their day-to-day lives.
This incarnation, however, pays tribute to The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972-1973) wherein each episode, a famous celebrity or fictional character would assist the Mystery, Inc. gang in solving their mysteries. Guest stars set to voice themselves in animated form for this series include Sia, Ricky Gervais, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mark Hamill, and Penn and Teller. Animated fictional characters set to appear as well include Wonder Woman, Sherlock Holmes, and Urkel.
The first season of the series comprises 13 episodes. There is no word yet as to how many seasons the series will run for.
