This one does have better talent involved than the first one in terms of
directors. Both Thurop Van Orman and John Rice have some great shows
that they’ve worked on in their profile, especially Van Orman. Maybe he
can bring that same sense of absurdity that was found in Flapjack and
insert that into the movie. Something as bizarre as Angry Birds could
really use that Flapjack sense of humor and tone. The first one had that here and there but it didn’t fully commit to it.

I have faith in Thurop Van Orman and John Rice. They’ve both worked on and created great shows that were surreal, funny, and very clever. While I thought Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly did a decent job with the first film, here’s hoping they can bring that same style into this film and help the franchise truly embrace the absurdity of it’s concept.

I either didn’t realize or plain forgot that a sequel was happening. Anyway, I don’t think it’s going to do too well no matter how many stars they get. The first one was sort of old news when it came out, and by next year, Angry Birds will likely be even less relevant. The mediocre response to the first movie won’t help either.

Great, one of 2016’s worst animated excuses for family entertainment that’s only a few steps better than The Emoji Movie is getting a sequel…Pfft! >_<
