I’m pretty sure they didn’t show the whole thing. It would take a little more than that to ruin my enjoyment of the movie.

To each their own. Smurfs Lost Village was more of my taste since I don’t ususally see movies that like Peanuts Movie deliver deeply felt emotion. But as fans of the legendary characters, I’m not that big on the Smurfs and Charlie Brown.

I wouldn’t call Smurfs a great like say Peanuts but I would say it’s a pretty decent and a more respectful adaptation of the comics. I feel the fact that Peanuts tried a little bit harder so that is why I think it’s a but better. However, Lost Village is still very creative and definitely does feel like something similar to Wizard of Oz or even Alice In Wonderland when it does it’s world building.

Just to elaborate on what I mean by Wizard Of Oz vibes is the character dynamic between Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty and Clumsy and the Peanuts Movie’s message that you have the power inside you to make your life better and you spent the entire show looking in the wrong places.

I guess it totally makes sense. So I have to agree and I would have just had I’m A Lady and I’m Blue instead of We Could Be Heroes too. But at least both movies were great and had Wizard of Oz vibes in different ways.

What I meant for Smurfs being more “timeless” is that if the movie had less out of place pop songs it would have that timeless Peanuts Movie feel that doesn’t take you out of the movie but brings you more into the world.

I would have love to hear Johnny Storm speak too. I bet they were trying to get across that he is portrayed as more of an obstacle more than a primary threat. Kind of like Thunderclap in the Good Dinosaur.

By the way Dave, as I was asking on the Smurfs review thread, what did you mean by if being focused on being timeless?
