I know how much you hate the “Worst thing EVER” internet language and I DO TOO. “The Peanuts Movie is the worst thing ever!” Um, okay. But. I really do think this might be the worst. I don’t know if Food Fight went in theaters, but if not, then this is probably the worst animated film in theaters. The animation was doomed to be bad from the start due to the awful designs, but it doesn’t help the completed animation is so awful when you zoom out you can barely make out people’s features. The humor was obnoxious, it was full of the most tired animated movie cliches, the characters were dull and forgettable, the plot was unnecessarily convoluted and busy without being interesting… I really just can’t hit on anything good. While, for example, A Troll in Central Park IS awful, I don’t think I was actively punished by it. 😛 And no, I haven’t’ seen Norm and yes, I am talking as if i saw it. To quote Jeremy Jahns. “Do yeh care? DO yeh care?”

Yeah I think you did the right thing with the interview and describing the dvd. However, just because we didn’t like it doesn’t mean we are jumping on the ‘bandwagon of negativity’. Sometimes I agree with the majority that a film was really terrible and sometimes I don’t. I liked Jupiter Ascending last year and everyone hated on that. It just depends on the movie.

The article was a review of the video release product itself, not the film. Objectively speaking, I didn’t have much to say for good or bad about the actual Blu-Ray video and its features. It is what it is and I think I gave a fair review of what people can expect from the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD combo pack.

Don’t get me wrong, I DON’T think Norm is a great animated film. I had a lot of problems with it, but there were some aspects of it that I liked. I’m comfortable with trying to find the good in animated films that I watch. But of course, we live in the hyperbolic Internet age where you either have to love everything with all your heart and soul or you have to hate it and wish it would die. It’s like the Internet and hype culture have turned us all bipolar. Just because I didn’t write “OMG WORST AMINATED MOVIE EVARR LOL” doesn’t mean I love this film.

About the interview, Lionsgate reached out to us inviting me to chat with the star of their film who happens to be a famous comedian. Why would I refuse to accept an opportunity like that on the grounds that their film wasn’t up to par with say Zootopia or Kung Fu Panda 3? One viewer even asked why I didn’t bring up to Rob the fact that Norm’s box office run was so unsuccessful. What an incredibly rude, snobby, and disrespectful thing to say to a guest on our show.

Y’all can list off the myriad of reasons why Norm is a poor-performing animated feature and I would probably agree with all of them. But I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon of negativity with this one.

Agreed, but replace BVS with The Nut Job and I’m right there.

Yeah Me Either, this film will probably would end up along with Pixels and BvS as the worst films of all time.
