If they are going the route they were going when they did that “Marvin the Martian” movie pitch, then we can only expect things to go way too far south.

I like the idea of a Speedy Gonzales movie that makes him more of a character and the fact that it is going to be animated makes me like it more. Hopefully, this leads into a new Looney Tunes movie (that actually focuses on them) or Looney Tunes solo films like this one. Basically, anything that brings the Looney Tunes back to the big screen the right way.

Speedy is one of those characters that belongs to the past and that just reinforces old offensive stereotypes, in my personal opinion. I don’t really mind a Speedy film, but I just don’t think it’s a good idea… But hey, at least George Lopez is not included. For some reason Hollywood still thinks he’s a good representation of the Mexican culture when nobody in Mexico actually knows who he is.
