I mean most people are caring about cinematography more in our movies and now animation and honestly don't care if we have it or not, unless you have a good story, characters, good animation (any kind, not a one sided person) then I will care about cinematography last of all things but really nice article here and getting me to think!

I've often wondered how cinematographers and directors of animated films deal with subtle framing choices like the "quadrant system" that appears to be so inherent to live-action film direction. It seems like some animated movies really excel in terms of cinematography, while others still have a ways to go.

One animated show I remember with amazing Cinematography was the short-lived Disney XD show TRON: Uprising. Some of the shots and angles were amazing. They played around with strange angles that gave the show an almost abstract kind of vibe. I can't remember a single shot I thought was poorly framed. But then, Disney XD killed off the show.

Big Hero 6 was the first film that I noticed to have taken Cinematography a lot more serious, since many of those scenes featured angles and effects that are just as amazing as the Live Action Marvel films. So I'm all for Cinematographers being recognized in Animation
