This gives me an idea; we need to convince Fox, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., MGM, Paramount, Dreamworks, etc. to give our favorite animated features the collector’s edition treatment on both Blu-Ray and DVD. We need to help bring other non-Disney made animated features to collector’s edition Blu-Ray, and now seems the perfect time!

I JUST got the VHS tape from Half Price Books! I’ve never seen it, but all the buzz makes me SO excited to watch it!

I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those movies that leaves me laying on the floor trying to comprehend what I just saw afterwards. Plus it’s Brad Bird! Can’t go wrong with Brad Bird.

I would love Iron Giant on blu ray! I have more respect for that film now than I did when I was younger, it just was so touching and funny and made it feel as real as some Pixar films can be sometimes

In reply to Morgan Stradling. I really wish this could happen (Criterion Collection) but they seem to be really biased against animation. The only real reason they did The Fantastic Mr. Fox (at least as far as I can see) is to complete the Wes Anderson collection. Which is great! But I really wish they would expand their animation department. The Iron Giant definitely displays all of the characteristics deserving Criterion status.

I was thinking that this would be a great title for The Criterion Collection. With the addition of The Fantastic Mr. Fox I believe they are more open to Animation now.
