Heh, I’m confused too. I’m in the UK and went to my local Odeon yesterday, and was surprised to see that there were sessions available for Mr. Peabody & Sherman for that day. I checked online after I got home, and weirdly, it isn’t playing again until the 7th (which is still early). Not sure what happened there, though I kinda wish I had noticed it sooner — I could have watched it yesterday.

It is also because of the events which happen in the USA is completely different to the UK, in the US frozen had to be released in november because of thanksgiving, however the uk thought it is better to show it during the christmas season. also like how Monsters University was released in june in the US because they are on summer holidays but here in the UK summer holidays start in July, so it would be smarter to release it then.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the film being related to Britain or America, it is because of distribution deals and advertisements, the movie had to be released in the UK before America because Mr. Peabody & Sherman has been promoted in the UK since november when they turned on the christmas lights in Regent street, and with the amount of money Dreamworks has made just everyone watching ty burell turning on the christmas lights, launching the movie early is not going to harm anyone.

I also don’t understand it, I live in The Netherlands and the film will also release here before the US release and this is exact the same in a lot of other European countries, I guess it was the same with DM2, so maybe it just has something to do with the marketing.
