On another note, the main reason I think this is because she’s not an actress. She’s not a trained thespian. She’s a singer. That’s why I think she’s being cast for her name only.

I’ll definitely give her a chance; I really don’t have an option since I’m definitely going to see the movie. But I’m there because the story intrigues me, not because Rihanna is in it. And I am still convinced that it is mostly because she is a big name that they think will draw in adults. There’s no reason why they couldn’t have used a lesser known actress. Right now, it’s the same reason she was cast in that Battleship movie from last year: she’s a big name star. Like I said, maybe she’ll surprise me and bring something to the role that I won’t expect.

I was really hoping there he only 2 Dreamworks movies so I only have to do 2 blog posts about Dreamworks that year, but they prove me wrong again.

JLo can actually act, so I am cool with that, Steve Martin will be Steve Martin in the movie I am sure, and Rihanna is gonna sell the movie, though her audience of music is clearly for adults.

I am so with you. She is there just for the name. They are probably in a have her sing for the entire soundtrack. I am not confident about he and acting.

See, it’s very silly to me that DreamWorks would only cast Rihanna for her name. There are tons of actresses/singers with huge names they could have easily cast in her place. Please give her a chance. I’m sure there’s a reason. Plenty of singers have proven themselves more than capable of acting. I realize the opposite has happened as well but still.

I’m with Animation Commendation for the moment. It’s the fact that Rihanna is not an actress and is being cast for her name only. I seriously doubt she will bring anything to the film that an actual actress couldn’t. Blue Sky does this all of the time, casting singers and what not for their characters, and it’s annoying. Dreamworks did this for Turbo as well.

To be fair, who knows, maybe she’ll be good. I was irritated that Beyonce was cast to be in Epic and she ended up being 1 of the only four things I liked about that film.

Geez..give the girl a chance.
