Cars (2006): I think It was more a toy commercial than a movie (something like Batman & Robin”) But it was OK. 5/10
Cars 2 (2011): This “sequel” was terreble! It wasn’t even a sequel it just took a random direction from racing to spys. Overall it was just a movie that was made for no reason.

Planes (2013): This movie was better than Cars 2 but slighty worse than Cars. It’s Story reminded me of “Turbo” which reminded me of “Cars”. The animation was OK for a Cars spin-off but not for a Disney movie. I think the race started too early. Turbo’s race began on the 1hour mark and Planes’ race began on the 20 minute mark.But it was OK for disney’s first cars spin-off. 4/10
And now we have Planes:Fire & Rescue please disney can you rest from the world of Cars for like a Decade.

It’s not just you. “Cars” was below-par for Pixar standards. They’ve turned out so many good films for the whole family to enjoy that “Cars” felt cheap and cheesy by comparison.

I shouldn’t be the pot calling the kettle black since I was (and still am!) a girl who loves sparkling Disney princesses and will buy anything that glitters. And I have nephews who adore anything with wheels and engines so I can see why there’s a strategic marketing plan focusing on Cars/Planes.

But I think it comes down to the movie that starts the franchise: is it entertaining and fulfilling to the general public? If it is then I don’t mind the tchotchkes that come with the show. Otherwise tchotchkes are just tchotchkes. *Runs off to find “Star Trek” shotglasses*
