First Look: Ringo Starr Gets Animated In “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl”

In celebration of the big January 20 comeback of The Powerpuff Girls, legendary Beatle Ringo Starr, who also special guest stars on the upcoming premiere episode, has released a fully animated music video of his new song “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.”

Featuring an all new, CGI-inspired look and a modern feel, The Powerpuff Girls brings new life to the classic TV show. The reboot features the entire original voice cast and guest stars Ringo Starr in the premiere.

The Powerpuff Girls
ran from 1998 to 2005 and became one of Cartoon Network’s most popular and beloved original shows, while garnering a fanbase that remains enthusiastic and active to this day. After nearly a decade off the air, the show returns to its roots in an all new fashion.

Personally, I’m looking forward to the reboot. The new designs aren’t too appealing, but it certainly looks like the original “formula” (no pun intended) remains the same.

The Powerpuff Girls premieres Monday, Jan. 20 (7:30/6:30c) on Cartoon Network.

What are your thoughts on the PPG makeover? Will you watch the premiere?
